Data We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve darwn. This includes:

  • Account & Profile: name, email, password (hashed), settings, linked bank account information, and any profile details you choose to add.
  • Referral & Rating Content: coworker names you submit, coworker linkedIn Urls, coworker locations, coworker professions, coworker employers, coworker ratings, comments, and metadata (timestamps, status).
  • Employment Context: company, job title, industry, state (if you provide it) and related professional info, and linked bank account and payment information.
  • Device & Usage: IP address, device identifiers, app/browser type, pages viewed, interactions, crash logs.
  • Location: coarse location inferred from IP; precise location only if you grant permission.
  • Communications: messages you send to us, support requests, and notification preferences.
  • Payment/Payout: payout details (e.g., tax and remittance info) processed via our payment partners.
  • From Others: other users may submit overlapping coworker data; partners may provide anti-fraud signals.
Sensitive data: please don’t include health, union, religious, or other special-category data in referrals or ratings.

How We Use Data

  • Provide the service: account creation, referrals/ratings workflow, payouts, and customer support.
  • Improve & research: troubleshooting, analytics, testing features, and service quality.
  • Personalize: show relevant prompts, reminders, and referral insights.
  • Safety & integrity: detect abuse/fraud, enforce policies, protect our users and platform.
  • Legal compliance: tax reporting, regulatory requests, and record keeping.
  • Marketing: send updates about new features—opt-out anytime.

How We Share Data

  • With other users: limited elements of referral activity may be visible as part of platform features (never your payout details).
  • Service providers: cloud hosting, analytics, email, anti-fraud, KYC/payout processors—bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • Partners: anonymized or aggregated insights for hiring signals and market trends.
  • Legal & safety: to comply with law, defend legal claims, or prevent harm.
  • Business transfers: in mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales, consistent with this policy.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Access/Correct/Delete: request a copy of your data, fix inaccuracies, or delete your account where applicable.
  • Object/Restrict: to certain processing (e.g., marketing) or ask us to limit use.
  • Portability: receive certain data in a portable format.
  • Preferences: manage notifications, email settings, and cookie choices.
  • Do Not Sell/Share (US States): opt-out where state law provides this right.
